2GIG GoControl panels ship with a 345 MHz receiver only. The DREC2 adds 319.5 MHz alongside it, so a panel can talk to both frequencies at once — which is what makes it possible to take over a property already full of 319.5 MHz sensors without pulling and replacing every one of them. For a takeover job, this part is often the difference between a half-day swap and a full re-sensor.
