Deploying Silarius Cloud, step by step
What to check, what to prepare and what happens on install day, whether you use Silarius X cameras, your existing cameras, or both.
List your cameras and sites
Count the cameras at each location and note the make and model of each camera or recorder. Mark which ones you want to keep and which need replacing.
Check compatibility
Existing cameras need to support ONVIF or RTSP to connect through a Silarius Gateway. Silarius X cameras connect on their own. Use the checker on this page, or send us your list and we will check it.
Choose quality and retention per camera
Decide how long each camera's video must be kept and at what quality. A lobby camera and a loading dock camera rarely need the same plan.
Prepare the network
- PoE switch ports for each camera, and a spot for the Gateway if used
- A reliable internet connection with enough upload capacity for your cameras
- Outbound internet access; no port forwarding or inbound rules are needed
Connect and verify
Plug in Silarius X cameras or the Gateway, confirm every camera appears in your Silarius Cloud account, and check live view and recording on each one.
Set users, alerts and analytics
Invite users with the right roles, turn on the analytics each area needs, and set who gets which alerts. Then roll out to the next site.
