Add an IP camera to your Silarius NVR

Find IP cameras on your network from the NVR and add them to channels automatically or by hand.

Applies to: Silarius NVRs and PoE NVRs running the NVR 5.0 interface

  1. Connect the camera

Connect the IP camera to the same network as the NVR (or to a PoE port on a PoE NVR) and make sure its network settings are correct.

  2. Open the Camera page

Right-click on the live view to open the main menu, then go to Channel → Camera.

  3. Search for cameras

Click Search. The NVR lists every camera it finds on the network that matches the Filter (Onvif and Private by default).

  4. Add the cameras you want

Tick the cameras you want and click Add. Each camera can only be added to the NVR once.

  5. Or use Auto Add

Click Auto Add to let the NVR change the cameras' IP settings on the network and connect them for you.

  6. Or add a camera by hand

Click Manual Add, tick Enable, pick the Channel and Protocol (Onvif, Private or RTSP), enter the camera's User Name, Password, IP address (or domain) and Port (default 80), then click Save.

  7. Check the connection

Look at the Link status for the channel. If it failed, the status shows why, for example a wrong password.
