Connect cameras to Silarius Cloud

Silarius X cameras go straight to the cloud with no NVR and no gateway. Cameras you already own connect through the Silarius Gateway.

Applies to: Silarius X cameras, the Silarius Gateway (SIL-CLOUDGATEWAY50), Gateway V2 (SIL-CLOUDGATEWAY200) and ONVIF IP cameras of any make. NVRs and DVRs connect through the Gateway too, each camera on its own.

  1. Choose your path

Silarius X cameras connect straight to Silarius Cloud: no NVR and no Gateway. IP cameras you already own connect through the Silarius Gateway. Silarius Cloud connects the cameras themselves, not NVRs or DVRs.

  2. Silarius X: add a plan when you order

On a Silarius X camera page, choose a Silarius Cloud plan with the camera. No Gateway is needed.

  3. Existing cameras: check them

They must be ONVIF IP cameras, with the ONVIF user turned on in each camera. The compatibility checker checks your makes and models.

  4. Get a Gateway

One Silarius Gateway ($299.99) connects up to 50 cameras; the Gateway V2 handles up to 200. When you add Cloud plans for cameras that are not Silarius X, on a camera page or in the price builder, the Gateway is added to your cart for you.

  5. Put the Gateway on the camera network

Connect the Gateway to the same network as the cameras, with each camera's basic settings done (password, clock, image). It needs no port forwarding: if you have a firewall, allow outbound traffic from the Gateway on port 443.

  6. Power it on and add the cameras

About 2 minutes after power-on the Gateway starts finding cameras with ONVIF discovery. A camera that does not appear can be added by IP address and port. Each camera is added with one click and gets a registration code for Silarius Cloud.

  7. Choose a plan per camera

Pick the video quality and days kept for each camera on Silarius Cloud pricing.
