What it is
Fire and smoke detection are extra AI types you can add to a camera. They are a separate add-on. Contact Silarius: request a quote or email us.
Fire
Fire detection is made for fairly large fires. It won't catch someone lighting a cigarette, a match or a candle.
A fire should fill about 4 to 5% of the picture to be found. That's about one small square out of a 5-by-5 grid.
Smoke
Smoke detection works for thick smoke you can't see through. Smoke from cigarettes or vapes is usually too thin to be found.
Turning it on
Once the add-on is active, fire and smoke show up in the object list of your detection rule. Pick Fire or Smoke like any other object. See Set up smart AI detection on a camera.
