Turn and zoom a PTZ camera from your phone
Use the PTZ controls in the mobile app to move, zoom and send a camera home.
By the end you will move a PTZ camera from your phone. PTZ means Pan (turn left and right), Tilt (up and down) and Zoom.
What you need
- The Silarius Cloud mobile app, signed in
- A PTZ camera
- Your user role allows PTZ
Set As Home replaces the old home spot. Only tap it if you want a new normal view.
Step by step
- Open the camera live
Tap Cameras and open your PTZ camera. Make sure it shows live video, not a recording.
- Tap PTZ
Tap the video once. Tap the PTZ button on the toolbar. The PTZ controls show where the timeline and events were.
- Zoom
Tap the magnifying glass icons to zoom in and out.
- Move the camera
Tap the arrows to turn the camera toward what you want to see.
- Set the speed
Slide the speed bar. Far left is slowest. Far right is fastest.
- Close the controls
Tap Dismiss. The timeline and events come back.
The home spot
Tap the square icon in the middle of the arrows. The camera goes back to its home spot (its normal view).
To make where the camera is now the new home spot, tap Set As Home.
Other screen direction
You can also use PTZ with the phone turned the other way. A similar set of controls shows on the right side of the screen.
Common questions
I don't see the PTZ button.
Check that the video is live. Your role must also allow PTZ. See Turn and zoom a PTZ camera for more reasons.
