Flatten a fisheye camera picture
Turn the round picture from a fisheye camera into normal, flat views you can look around in.
By the end you will turn a round fisheye picture into flat views. A fisheye camera sees a whole room in one round picture. De-warping makes it look normal.
What you need
- A fisheye camera in your account
- You are signed in to the Silarius Cloud web app
Step by step
- Open your user account settings
Click Profile in the top bar. Click User account.
- Add your fisheye cameras
Go to Experimental Features. Add every camera you want to flatten.
- Open de-warping
Move your mouse over the fisheye camera. A new button is now on its toolbar. Click it. De-warping opens in a new tab.
- Look around
Roll the mouse wheel to zoom in or out. Click and drag to look in another direction. This is called digital PTZ.
- Switch back
Click the other tab to go back to your normal layout.
Fine-tune the picture
On the camera toolbar of the first screen, click the fisheye adjustment button.
- Change the X and Y numbers to move the center of the round picture. This fixes small camera flaws.
- The camera is set as mounted on the ceiling. If yours is on a wall, change the mounting setting.
A small preview shows the round picture with colored marks. Each color matches one of the three flat views, so you can see where each view is pointing.
Good to know
- This setting is just for you. Every user who wants de-warping must add the cameras for themselves.
