Share cameras with another Silarius Cloud account
Let the users of another Silarius Cloud account see one of your cameras for as long as you want.
By the end you will link your account to another Silarius Cloud account and share a camera with them. You will also know how to stop sharing.
What you need
- An Owner user, or an Admin user allowed to share, in Silarius Cloud Admin
- The other account's sharing code or email address
Step by step
- The other account finds its code
The account that will get the camera opens the Share menu in Silarius Cloud Admin and picks Activate Sharing. Its sharing code is shown there. They send you that code.
- Enter the code
In your Silarius Cloud Admin, open the Share menu and pick Activate Sharing. Type the code in the activate sharing box and click activate. If you only have their email address, enter that instead. They must then click the link in the email they get.
- Share the camera
In the Share menu, click Share. Pick the Camera option. Choose the camera and the account to share with. Click Share.
- Repeat for each camera
You share one camera at a time. Do the step again for each camera you want to share.
- The other account gives access
The other account now sees a new role called Shared cameras in its Roles table. A role is a set of things a user may see and do. They give this role to their Admin or Guard users. It can even be a user's only role.
How it works
This is for sharing with a different Silarius Cloud account, like a landlord sharing a lobby camera with a tenant's company. Their users then see your camera inside their own Silarius Cloud.
One account can share with many accounts. It can also get cameras from many accounts.
Unlike a web link, this kind of sharing never runs out. It lasts until you stop it.
If you don't see the sharing options, sharing may not be turned on for your account yet. Please contact Silarius support: get free remote setup help or email us.
