What is Silarius Cloud?
Learn what Silarius Cloud does and the parts you will use.
By the end you will know what Silarius Cloud is, what it can do for you, and which parts you will use.
The short version
Silarius Cloud keeps your security camera video on the internet, not on a box in a closet. Your cameras send their video to the cloud (big, safe computers in a data center). You can then watch live video or old video from a computer or a phone, from anywhere.
It works with IP cameras. An IP camera is a camera that plugs into your network, the same way a computer does. You can use Silarius X cameras, or use your own existing cameras, any model.

What you can do with it
- Watch live video from your cameras.
- Go back in time and watch recorded video.
- Get an alert by email or on your phone when something happens.
- Save a short piece of video (a clip) and download it.
- Share a camera with someone by sending a link.
- Give each person their own sign-in and choose which cameras they can see.
The parts you will use
- Silarius Cloud web app: where you watch video in a modern web browser. It has menus like Cameras, Events, Library and Layouts.
- The Silarius Cloud mobile app: the same idea, on your phone. Get it from our sign-in page: Sign in.
- Silarius Cloud Admin: the control room for account owners and admins. This is where you add cameras, add people, set alerts and change settings.
- Silarius Gateway: a small box that connects the cameras you already own to Silarius Cloud.
Where your video is kept
Your video is stored with a major cloud data center provider. That adds extra backup and extra safety for your video.
What it does not do
Have an NVR or DVR? Its cameras can connect through the Silarius Gateway too. See Connect your NVR or DVR. Each camera talks to the cloud on its own, or through a Silarius Gateway.
Common questions
Do I need a recorder box on site?
No. Your video is recorded in the cloud. If you already have a recorder (NVR or DVR), you can keep it and connect its cameras through the Silarius Gateway. See Connect your NVR or DVR.
Can I use the cameras I already have?
Yes. Use your own existing cameras, any model. They connect with ONVIF or through the Silarius Gateway. See Ways to connect your cameras.
